仲夏之夜，聒噪的蝉鸣此起彼伏，那闷热的天气压得我如窒息般痛苦。刚吃过晚饭，母亲便开始催促我去写作业，我极不情愿地推开门，缓缓拿出我的作业。因为我知道，那一道数学题，是无数学子的噩梦。

我注视着它，脑袋飞快地思考着种种解题方法，一一试过后，却仍算不出来，在它的身上，看不到一丝希望。我的心如同这天气一般燥热不堪。不耐烦地摆弄着笔，于是，我决定用一种繁琐的方式解题。五分钟，十分钟，三十分钟过去了，仍没有一丝头绪。不知为何，我由先前的焦躁变为了愤怒。那种怒，无法遏制。最终如火山爆发般喷涌而出。
I stared at it, my head rapidly thinking about various problem-solving methods. After trying them one by one, I still couldn't figure them out. There was no hope in it. My heart is as dry and hot as this weather. Impatiently fidgeting with my pen, I decided to solve the problem in a tedious way. 我把笔奋力一摔，随即又瘫坐在椅子上，不禁潸然泪下。母亲听到声音，迅速赶来，看到如此情形，询问我发生了什么事。我不愿向母亲诉说此事，只是一个人默默哭泣。泪水打湿了衣衫，形成一片片灰色的晕圈。在母亲的再三询问下，我终于向她说了这件事。听罢，母亲默不作声，不久，母亲轻启唇齿缓缓说道：“世上无难事，只怕有心人，凡是贵在持之以恒，难道你不想成功地做出这道题吗？坚持便是成功的秘诀呀！”我若有所思地望向窗外，惊觉一颗流星划过了黑夜。我心头一颤，顿时豁亮起来。

我拭干眼角的泪水，重拾起那根笔，开始向那道题宣战。又试了几次，失败了，但这次我没有放弃，而是更加坚定了心中的信念，再试一次！功夫不负有心人，那结果跃然纸上。忽然，一阵清凉的晚风吹过，吹动了我的衣衫，也吹动了我的心……耳畔，是一声渺远的蝉鸣声……
