时光总是匆匆，一年一度的春节转眼间又到了。在春节，我最期待的就是团圆饭了，以前是如此，现在亦是如此。

妈妈为了这个春节可真是费尽了心思。提前一个月，她去菜市场精心挑选了新鲜的猪肉和蔬菜，除夕前开车去乡下，挑选走地鸡，因为这种鸡肉最鲜嫩；家里人喜欢吃油果，她便学着做油果，妈妈为何要这么大费周章呢？我百思不得其解，“这不过是一个春节，一顿年夜饭而已，您何必如此劳累呢？”妈妈回答：“这个春节，爷爷奶奶，外公外婆都一起来过年，舅舅一家也会过来，大家难得聚在一起，我肯定要精心准备好好招待他们啊！”“即使如此，我们可以下饭馆啊，应有尽有，而且您烧得还未必比得上饭店烧的啊，何苦呢？”妈妈笑而不语。
Mom has really put in a lot of effort for this Spring Festival. A month in advance, she went to the market and carefully selected fresh pork and vegetables. Before New Year's Eve, she drove to the countryside and picked out free range chickens because they were the freshest and most tender; Her family likes to eat oil fruits, so she learned how to make them. Why does her mother have to go through so much trouble? I can't figure it out. "This is just a Spring Festival, a New Year's Eve dinner. Why do you have to work so hard?" My mother replied, "During this Spring Festival, grandparents, grandparents, and my uncle's family will come together. It's rare for everyone to gather together, so I must prepare carefully and treat them well!" "Even so, we can go to a restaurant where everything is available, and your cooking may not be as good as that in a restaurant. Why bother?" My mother smiled without saying a word.
大年三十晚上，妈妈把菜都准备好了，亲戚们也到齐了。一碗碗热乎的菜被端上桌，大家围坐在桌前，为新的一年干杯，家里洋溢着热闹欢快的气氛。我们一边吃饭，一边聊天，不亦乐乎！是啊，这是家的味道！放眼窗外，万家灯火明亮，这就是春节该有的模样，是团聚的温度，是家的温暖。
On the evening of Chinese New Year's Eve, my mother prepared all the dishes and all the relatives arrived. We had a great time eating and chatting at the same time! Yeah, this is the taste of home! Looking out the window, thousands of homes are brightly lit. This is what the Spring Festival should look like, the warmth of reunion and home.
至此，我终于明白妈妈为什么要自己亲手准备那么一大桌饭菜了。人生多别离，难得是相聚。厨房里的烟火气，饭桌上的家乡菜，始终温暖着我们。
