The scorching heat of summer, the glaring sun, this kind of spicy weather was something I had never paid attention to when I was lying in an air-conditioned room. It wasn't until a few years ago that I returned to my old hometown and stayed with my uncle.

Uncle is over 50 years old, his hair has turned completely gray, his skin has been tanned, and his round face and cheerful smile always make people feel very friendly.

On the second day at Uncle's house, our family went to the fields to help him. During that time, it was the season of the chili harvest, and Uncle was busy collecting chili peppers almost every day. Looking at the glaring sunlight, I reluctantly shouted, "Why do you have to pick it today? It's so hot outside." Uncle smiled and replied, "Because it's probably going to rain tomorrow. If you don't pick it, it'll all rot in the ground

We braved the scorching sun and arrived in the fields, fully equipped with sun protection clothing, sun hat, and mosquito repellent. Uncle Ke is just a simple old man's shirt, just exposing his skin to the sun. After Uncle told me how to pick it, he took the lead in starting his own hand. He skillfully shuttled through the fields, as if in a hurry. Beads of sweat as big as beans rolled and grew bigger, quickly sliding down from his forehead one by one and hitting the ground with a clatter. However, he didn't seem to feel anything and kept picking chili peppers for a moment. Alas, it's all this weather that makes Uncle so tired.

Before the sun set, Uncle's old man's shirt was already soaked, but he didn't even wipe off his sweat and hadn't seen him sit down and rest for a while, as if he had melted into the field.

The sky was dyed orange red, and I smelled the fragrance of rice wafting from my home, feeling really hungry. So I ran to the field stem and shouted to my uncle, "Uncle! Let's go home!" "You go back first, I still need to pick for a while!" My uncle's response came from the chili pepper bushes, scattered into the fields, and then floated in the bright red sunset.

That night, Uncle came back very late, carrying the last basket of chili peppers on his back and standing at the door. He also put down the chili peppers before wiping off the sweat on his head, but there was no fatigue or annoyance on his face.

The next morning, I didn't wake up until after nine o'clock, and my uncle had long disappeared from the house. Dad said there was a light rain last night, and Uncle got up and went to the fields in the early morning. Fortunately, it wasn't very heavy, and Uncle has been busy in the fields until now.

Uncle waited until noon, braving the scorching sun and accompanied by the noisy chirping of cicadas, to arrive home. I approached him and asked, "The weather is so sunny, aren't you hot?" Uncle replied with a smile, "It's not hot, it's not hot. Just bring back the chili peppers. Fortunately, it's this weather, the sun is much better than rain

I'm afraid he's just such a simple and hardworking person, without any culture but still able to laugh heartily every day. The weather, holding his heart, also holds the hearts of simple farmers like him, as if a drop of rain or a drop of rain can bring them back to the fields again. They endure the torment of scorching summer, yet they smile and appreciate this weather. It is their simple, pragmatic, and persevering personality that enables them to harvest crops scattered across the mountains and fields. They spread their diligence into the fields and cherish every day that belongs to them.
