Some people enjoy playing basketball, some enjoy reading extracurricular books, and some enjoy singing, but I enjoy drawing.
I really envy those classmates for their beautiful paintings and winning awards in drawing competitions. I secretly made up my mind to learn how to draw. I told my mom about this idea, and she was very supportive of me and enrolled me in an art class.
At the beginning, the teacher asked us to copy portraits first. I picked up a pencil and first drew a pair of round eyes on a round face. The thin pen tip gently traced on the white paper, and I quickly finished drawing with each stroke. I gathered my courage and asked the teacher, 'Is the painting okay?' The teacher nodded and said, 'It's okay.' I secretly felt happy after hearing this. Encouraged by my teacher, I drew a small nose and cherry mouth while watching. But when it comes to hair, I'm in trouble again. The teacher patiently said, "You can draw straight hair or curly hair. You can draw whatever you like." After finishing, the teacher picked up my pencil and helped me draw my hair, telling me how to draw it. I remembered it firmly. I quickly drew smooth hair. Suddenly, the little girl on the blueprint was so cute, I was extremely happy.
Then came the painting of the dress. I thought for a long time, but my mind was still blank, and I was so anxious that my brow furrowed. The teacher saw that I was facing a small difficulty, and quietly walked up to me and showed me a demonstration. I looked carefully and tried to draw a picture again. This time, the pen was very obedient in my palm. The princess skirt I finally drew was exactly the same as the picture. I also added some small accessories on it, and painted several small flowers and bows on the skirt, making the little girl in the pen very beautiful.
In the next few classes, I not only learned how to draw people, but also started drawing small animals. The most difficult part of drawing small animals is their bodies, which cannot be drawn too big or too small. Drawing too big feels fat, drawing too small feels thin. In the process of constantly imitating the animals in the pictures, my hands became a bit sore, but I didn't give up. Over and over, I finally learned how to draw. The animals and characters in my pen are so lifelike that I can't help but show a long lost smile. I also feel that when drawing, I don't have any worries in my heart.
From studying painting, I understand that success can only be achieved through hard work. As the saying goes, as long as one works hard, an iron pestle can be ground into a needle. I believe that with my efforts, my artwork will continue to improve.
