“ Girl, help grandma move the cooling mat upstairs. ”
“ Mmm, let's go upstairs! ”
The second floor of grandma's house is an open-air platform where my cousin and I play games. It's a great place for our family to cool off.
The stars twinkled and the cool breeze blew gently. My grandmother and I lay on the cool mat, laughing and chatting. Occasionally, waves of cool breeze blew in, making us extremely comfortable.
I asked my grandmother:; Grandma, how many stars are there in the sky? Mom said that there is always a star in the sky representing oneself. So, which one is me and which one is you? ”
Grandma looked at me with her kind and unique eyes and said; The brightest star in the sky is you, and the star next to it is me, just like we are now. As for how many stars are there; — ”
“ How many? ” I asked my grandmother with great anticipation, a golden light shining in my eyes.
“ I won't tell you about this yet, you can count it yourself. ” My eyes were a bit dim, but soon I became excited again and counted the stars.
“ One, two, three, four… … Uh, thirty-four, hey, no, why is there another one? Thirty five, why is there still one here? Hmm… … Thirty-six! How come there's still this. And there it is! ” I stretched out my tender little hand and counted.
“ What is it? I can't count it. Hmph, you bad stars, don't listen! Why don't you just stay here and let me count! ” I was muttering to myself.
“ Alright, the girl is not angry anymore. ” Grandma touched my head and gently said to me.
I stood up, the breeze lifted my clothes and blew my hair. I looked at the endless village and looked up at the stars. Their eyes blinked, each one emitting a charming light. In this blue sky, together with the bright moon like a mirror, they gave me the beautiful starry sky and the forever lingering affection in my heart.
The stars are twinkling, no matter how many they are, they cannot be counted, and the strong emotions cannot be fully felt. But I have been counting the countless hearts and feeling the endless emotions.
