Once upon a time, there was a woodpecker in the forest. Its feathers are not as magnificent as peacocks, and its singing is not as loud as larks, but the forest cannot do without it. It is the forest doctor‐ — Woodpecker.
One day, a lush banyan tree in the forest suddenly fell ill. The little bird flying freely in the sky saw it and quickly flew down, saying:; Uncle Shu, what's wrong with you? ” The banyan tree said with discomfort, '; I… … Sick… … Yes, not… … Very uncomfortable! ” The little bird listened and stopped on the branch, anxiously saying, '; Uncle Shu, don't worry, I'll go find the forest doctor right away; — Doctor Woodpecker. ” After hearing this, the woodpecker doctor immediately flew over and kindly asked:; Uncle Dashu, where do you feel pain? I'm here to help you treat your illness! ” The woodpecker doctor began to treat the big tree. It first pecked back and forth on the bark of the banyan tree with its long beak. In no time, the woodpecker doctor pecked out seven or eight large green worms from Uncle Banyan's body and swallowed them in one gulp.
Uncle Banyan is very grateful to Doctor Woodpecker and kindly said:; Thank you, Woodpecker. If it weren't for your help in treating my illness, I wouldn't have survived. ” The woodpecker happily said, '; No need to thank you, I am honored to treat you. ” Before long, the banyan tree became as lush and majestic as before, like a tall guardian of the forest.
This story tells us: when others are in difficulty, please do not stand idly by, be willing to help others.
