晚上回家，爸爸拿回来一盆植物，碧绿的叶子中一朵白色花朵笔直的挺立着，有点像假花，我问爸爸：“这是什么啊？”“这叫白掌。”我从来没看见过如此美丽的花儿。

细细观察，只见那盆白掌的叶子又宽又绿，像一个爱心。叶子上的茎根根分明，仿佛生了好心，怕别人看不清，故意用两种不同的颜色来区分呢！白掌的花只有一片花瓣，弯着自己的身体，遮着里面黄色的花芯，好像卫士正在保护着主人，又好像年轻妈妈保护孩子，不让他受到伤害。它的茎是深绿色的，有粗有细。细的茎和一根缝衣针差不多宽，而粗的茎跟充电器的电线差不多。最底下的根又细又长，仿佛一条蚯蚓正在享受滋润的露水。
